Fujairah: Emirati jailed 15 years for killing his wife

The Fujairah Court of Appeal amended the ruling of the First Instance Court in the case of an Emirati husband who killed his 29-year-old wife in Dibba Al Fujairah. The man was sentenced to 15 years in prison and the payment of 100,000 Dhs as blood money to her inheritors.
The details of the case go back to November 2014, when the Dibba Al Fujairah was shocked with the crime of a 30-year-old Emirati killing his wife and mother of a baby girl. The police moved to the crime scene, where the accused was arrested and sent for investigation. The forensic report of the woman reported fractures in the larynx, leading to cardiac arrest and death.

In the prosecution’s record, the accused listed the details of his crime, stating that a dispute happened between them after the victim came from Abu Dhabi, the defendant then dropped the victim on the floor and brought his shemagh and wrapped it around her neck until he was sure of her deathdied.

A psychological examination of the offender by the Medical Committee in February last year showed that he was aware of the nature of the examination. He was initially uncooperative, very angry, aggressive and irritated by the examiners, after several attempts by the examiners he began to respond.

He did not have the signs of acute emotional disturbance, but the emotion of anger prevailed throughout the examination period. He stated all the details of his crime and in the chronological order, showing that he was conscious and aware of the nature of the act committed. Examiners noted that the defendant suffers from an obvious weakness in anger management.
