Dubai Executive Council’s decree No. 58 of 2017 issues the adoption of fees and fines for the disposal of waste in the emirate of Dubai, which will come into force from May 17 this year.
Eng. Abdulmajeed Saifaie, Director of Waste Management Department at Dubai Municipality, urged the concerned people to look out for more details on the municipality website. A paper entitled “Fees and fines for disposal of waste in the Emirate of Dubai” includes more details on the decree.
“It is worth noting that there are many industrial and commercial companies that have already started implementing waste reduction plans and that the number of these companies and institutions is expected to increase after adoption and implementation of the decree,” Saifaie said.
The decree determines fees for the disposal of general waste, unwanted materials such as papers, tapes, CD-ROMs, fee for hazardous and medical waste treatment, according to the quantity of waste carried by the transporter.
