Dubai Police arrested a 25-year-old Arab national four hours after stabbing to death an American businessman from Arab origins in a hotel room.
Al Muraqqabat Police Station had received a call from the nephew of the businessman stating that he had lost contact with his uncle while he was in the country.
The investigations showed the businessman had frequently been to the country for long periods and used to stay at different hotel rooms. Search and investigation teams were able to locate the businessman who was staying in a hotel in Dubai.
Within four hours, the teams, using artificial intelligence techniques at the Data Analysis Center, identified the perpetrator and his nationality. He turned out to be an Arab visitor who had accompanied the businessman to his hotel room. Dubai Police teams arrested the suspect in a record time.
During investigations, he admitted that he planned of stealing the victim’s wallet by beating him on the head with a wooden plank of the wardrobe and fled the scene after stealing the businessman’s credit card and giving it to his accomplice, an Arab national resident, who helped him withdraw some cash from the card.
