Al Ain: Chief nurse commits suicide in a private hospital

An official source at a private hospital in Al Ain told Al Bayan that the head of the nursing department at a private hospital, an Asian woman, aged 40, committed suicide last Sunday at 1:30 PM by throwing herself from the top of the hospital building.
The nurse had joined the hospital in Al Ain last January after she left her job at a health center in Dubai. She is also a resident in the UAE for a long time. She was known to be committed to fulfilling her duties with the utmost responsibility, distinguished by high morals, efficiency and compassion. She was also fully aware of patients rights, nurses’ duties towards them and the relationship of nurses with patients, colleagues and managers in general.
“We have asked all her colleagues in the hospital about the possible cause of her suicide,” the official said. “But everyone is unaware of the reasons so far. We later learned that she had a daughter studying at a German university, and her son was studying at a university in her home country, and had not met her for a long time. The cause of her suicide may seem to be just family-related or personal problems. “
The hospital administration contacted her family, who were shocked to hear of her suicide. At the same time, however, they refused to receive the body. Since the family doesn’t want to take the body back home, the hospital is planning to arrange her burial in the Emirate.
