Sharjah: Emirati family parts ways with their maid after 27 years with farewell gifts

An Emirati family based in Sharjah parted ways with their Indian maid – after 27 years of service – with farewell gifts to show their gratitude towards her.

The family held a ceremony to honour the domestic helper as she decided to go back to her country due to her old age.

Her pleasant personality, integrity and kind nature won her their hearts during her service.

The family organised a farewell party for her, which was attended by all the children and grandchildren she had raised as well as other family members. They also presented her gifts as a mark of appreciation for her services.

The maid was overwhelmed with emotions during the farewell party, stating that she never felt as a maid, but was rather treated as a family member.
