The investigation teams at Al Qusais police station were able to solve the mystery of the death of two Asian nationals in a run over accident. The police also arrested the victim after he had fled the scene without any witnesses. He turned out to be a young man in his 20’s, driving the car under the influence of alcohol, who fled and tried to hide the car.
Brigadier Gen. Al Adidi, director of Al-Qusais police station, stated that a report was recieved at 5:00AM mid Apirl, revealing that two Asian nationals were run over and killed in Al Qusais are, and that the driver escaped from the scene. The investigation team, and a team of forensic experts, immediately arrived at the scene, and the deceased were transferred to Rashid Hospital to complete the proceedings after the evidence was filed.
Brigadier Gen. Al Adidi confirmed that there were no witnesses at the scene and no cameras were available. However, with the expertise of forensic experts it was determined that the color of the vehicle was gray, and from the mirror found at the scene, the car model was identified as Ford 2006.
In just two hours, the car was found parked in Al Karama area. It was verified that it belonged to a woman who denied anything to do with the incident. She also stated that her car was with her 21-year-old brother.
The btoher was arrested and admitted to having been driving under the influence of Alcohol (DUI). Stating that he was afraid of legal accountability, and fled the scene of the incident.
