RAK: Arab man jailed for attempting to assault his neighbor

The Criminal Court of Ras al-Khaimah ruled on Sunday to punish an Arab man who tried to assault his Asian neighbor, with a three-year prison sentence.

The accused had entered the victim’s house while she slept in her room before she was aware of him and resisted his assault.

The victim stated in the investigations that she was surprised by the accused entering her house during her sleep, where he began to assault her, but she immediately resisted, photographed him, and informed the authorities that arrested him.

During investigations, the defendant said he was exchanging eye contact with his neighbor, who was always standing near the window opposite to his house, and she sometimes greeted him, prompting him to enter her house and try to assault her.
