Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) launched its Ramadan Sports Tournament 2018, which will continue until 8th July at the Sheikh Saeed Hall in Dubai World Trade Centre. The Tournament includes badminton, basketball, volleyball, football, tennis and cricket.
In addition, DEWA’s teams are also participating in the wheelchair basketball at Dubai Club for People of Determination, NAS Bicycle, and NAS Night Challenge, as part of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament 2018 activities. This is part of DEWA’s keenness to enhance employee happiness and make sports an active part of the culture of Emirati society.
“DEWA is committed to fulfilling its social responsibility and towards achieving the happiness of its employees. This supports the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the happiest city in the world and to make sports a part of the culture of Emirati society,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
Al Tayer noted that DEWA is one of the leading government organisations to support sports in the UAE, by organising internal tournaments, and participating in various national and international competitions and championships.
