Dubai Court of Appeal considers the case of an Asian man who was killed in a construction site

Dubai Court of Appeal considered the case of an Asian man who died in a construction site as a result of a professional mistake by the defendant, following wrongful and unsafe practices that led to the death of the victim.

The court of first instance had sentenced the accused to six months’ suspension, fined him 10,000 Dhs and the legal blood money.

Sources stated that the victim – who is not a company worker – entered the construction site to drink water, when he left the site he did not use the normal exit route, but tried to take a shortcut behind one of the excavators. The excavator turned in a sudden movement and hit the victim, he suffered severe injuries which led to his death on the site before the arrival of the ambulance.

In his petition to the court, the lawyer Mohammed Al Mansouri demanded that the case be referred to the investigation and to the witnesses of the incident, he also demanded the acquittal of the accused from the charge against him.
