Dubai: Four men to be jailed, fined for burning their friend’s dead body

Dubai Court of Appeal upheld the verdict of the Criminal Court, demanding the arrest of four defendants, the imposition of a 62,000 Dhs. fine, and the deportation of three of them, after they were accused with setting fire to the body of their friend who died of a drug overdose.

The case was referred to the Criminal Court when one of the defendants admitted that the victim had taken a dose of heroin after mixing it with water by injection, he lose consciousness so his friends left him in the desert unconscious in his car.

Two days later, they came to the desert to find that their friend had died, so they brought gasoline from a petrol station and poured it on the vehicle, burning it to hide the features of the dead body. The defense of the four defendants appealed the criminal court’s judgment of imprisonment and fine, but the court of appeal supported the ruling.
