Dubai: Man assaults, rapes 23-year-old student in his villa

Dubai Public Prosecution referred a case to the Criminal Court today where an Arab student, 23, was assaulted and raped by a GCC national who lured her to his house pretending to want to resolve a dispute between her and a friend, before beating her up and documenting it with his mobile phone.
The prosecution stated that the 24-year-old defendant had been in contact with the victim and had been asked to come to his house to discuss the dispute with their friend, while plotting to attack her against her will, without taking into consideration that it was during the holy month of Ramadan.
The victim informed the Public Prosecution that the suspect took her to the upper floor where he forcibly raped her after locking the door and throwing the key away, he also beat her with his hands and a glass vase, making her lose consciousness before threatening to infom her family that she was alone with him in his house.
The victim added that she managed to convince the accused to let her out after he assaulted her, before she quickly contacted the police who had arrived to the international city to pick her up, before going back to the accused’s villa, where he was found under the influence of the drugs they found in his room.
The defendant denied his crime to the police claiming that he had done it with her consent and that he had to beat her up after he discovered she took an envelope in which he kept Dh50,000.
