Abu Dhabi: Cancellation of speed margins reduces radar fines

Jamal Al Ameri, Executive Director of Saed Traffic Accidents Prevention Society, stated that the elimination of speed margins on roads is in the interest of drivers, both physically and financially, since it will enhance their safety and reduce the value of speed limit fines “for violations of not more than 20 kilometers per hour” that will become AED 300 instead of 600 dirhams as stipulated in Article No. 40 of traffic fines for 2017.

Abu Dhabi Police had previously announced that starting tomorrow, speed limit margins are to be cancelled on all roads in the emirate, calling on all drivers to adhere to the speed written on the traffic signs, and any violations of driving above the written speed will be caught by radars.
