Abu Dhabi: Seven members of a GCC family injured in a traffic accident

Seven people of a Gulf Nationality were injured in a traffic accident after Al Wathba bridge in Abu Dhabi, the driver and the passengers suffered minor to moderate injuries and a two-year-old girl sustained serious injuries, initial reports revealed that a pick-up vehicle swerved on the family’s car and the family car’s driver tried to avoid it and collided to the road’s barrier.

According to Lt. Col. Dr. Abdullah Yousif Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of the Traffic Department of the Traffic and Patrols Department of Abu Dhabi Police, the preliminary investigations revealed that the accident was due to a 3-ton pick-up vehicle that swerved on the affected vehicle, causing it to collide with iron barriers.

Al-Suwaidi called on motorists and road users to take precaution whiled driving and ensure that the road is free during the change of lanes, and to choose the right place to stop in emergency situations to avoid serious traffic accidents.

The command and control center of the Abu Dhabi Police Central Operations Department received a report on the accident and the Abu Dhabi Police Authority secured the site and transported the wounded to Mafraq Hospital.
