The Abu Dhabi Federal Court acquitted a man who was previously accused of being the right hand of a narcotic drug dealer, after being caught in an ambush by drug control personnel, resulting in the seizure of large quantities of narcotic drugs in the first defendant’s car and home.
Details of the case reveal that a report was received by Al Ain’s Narcotic-Drugs Control Dept. stating that the first defendant possesses and produces narcotic substances for the purposes of drug abuse and drug dealing. Investigations confirmed the validity of this information, so the police prepared an ambush in which the first defendant agreed to sell a quantity of narcotic drugs, but the buyer was actually a Police officer.
On the day of the ambush, the accused was caught during the handover and the second defendant (now acquitted) was found with him the car. Lawyer Ali Al Hammadi pointed out that the case against his defendant lacks evidence and that his client was charged only due to his presence with the accused at the time of his arrest.
The court issued its decision to acquit the accused of the charge against him.
