ADP arrests thief who used optical illusion to trick a bank employee

Abu Dhabi Police arrested an Asian man who conned a bank employee and stole amount of money using optical illusion before fleeing the place. He confessed the crime and was referred to Public Prosecution.

Colonel Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, chief of Western Region Police stated that a report was received from a bank stating that a thief stole an amount of money without the employee’s knowledge.

Investigations revealed that the thief had tricked the accountant, then took the money to exchange it from dollars to dirhams. The thief was identified and arrested by ADP following searches and investigations. Legal procedures had been carried out and he confessed to committing the crime, explaining that he used hand tricks and visual deception, he was then was referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for further investigations..

Al Khaili stressed the importance of caution in banks and money exchange centers to avoid such fraudulent crimes, pointing out that the immediate reporting is important.
