Sharjah Police and all concerned patrols rushed to Al Dhaid-Sharjah highway immediately after receiving a report of a woman’s death after she jumped off ta bridge on the highway, which caused a surprised driver to run over her with a speeding car. No accidents among other vehicles were reported. The patrols organized traffic and diverted vehicles to avoid overcrowding and ensure the safety of road users.
The Central Operations Room at the Sharjah Police Headquarters received a report at 7:43 PM Saturday evening, October 27, 2018, stating that an Asian woman had died on Al Dhaid-Sharjah highway.
The Director General of Police Operations, Brig. Gen. Khalifa Rashid, Director of the Police Department, Col. Ibrahim Musabah, Director of Criminal Investigations Department, Colonel Faisal Bin Nassar, Colonel Khalid Al Kai, Deputy Director of Traffic Department, and a number of police officers in Sharjah Police, in addition to ambulance and rescue teams all moved to the scene.
Teams began working immediately upon arrival at the site of the accident, where it was revealed from preliminary inspection; that the dead body belonged to an Asian woman who is 38 years old, who committed suicide by throwing herself from the bridge. her body was transferred to the laboratory to identify the real reasons that led to death, and more investigations are underway.
