Home delivery of medicines to upgrade quality of health services in UAE

Distribution of medicines to patients at their doorsteps is becoming a reality in Dubai.

In line with its agreement with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and in a step to offer additional service to patients and to respond to some of their needs, ZAJEL, the leading national courier company in the UAE, has signed a cooperation agreement with Zulekha Hospital Dubai to deliver medicines to the patients and clients dealing with the Hospital.

The agreement was signed by Ms Khawla Kabanji, CEO of ZAJEL, and Dr Zia Ur Rahman Shah, Director of Zulekha Hospital.

Earlier, ZAJEL signed an agreement with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) to provide delivery services to hospitals. ZAJEL has signed similar cooperation agreements with Latifa Hospital, Rashid Hospital and Dubai Diabetes Center.

The deal aims to avail the opportunity for delivering medicines to patients and clients of the Hospital in a first-of-a-kind step that is in line with best international practices in the area of transporting medicines. It also aims to ensure care for patients, save their time and accelerate their return home following medical advice or treatments.

The new optional service will serve thousands of patients who visit the hospital each year, and who have to spend part of their time waiting for medication while they are in dire need of leaving once they have completed treatment or medical advice.

Dr Zia Ur Rahman Shah commended the agreement which comes as part of the Hospital’s plans to ensure clients’ happiness and upgrade the level of services provided to them. She indicated that the choice of ZAJEL is based on its impressive record in the field of courier services and the credibility it enjoys.

Khawla Kabanji expressed her appreciation for the selection of ZAJEL by Zulekha Hospital to deliver medicines to its patients, and indicates that this kind of service represents a qualitative addition to the UAE health sector.

“Our trained staff will pick-up the medicines from the hospital’s pharmacy and deliver them in a record time to patients’ homes, in line with the company’s reputation and outstanding services, with best wishes for speedy recovery for all patients,” she said.
