Ajman: GCC man steals car because he was “too tired to walk”

Ajman Criminal Court charged a 34-year-old GCC national with stealing another person’s vehicle when he found it in an operating state and drove it to his house in another emirate. The man drove the car in front of everyone and despite the surprised owner of the vehicle who had left the engine running and went down to do something.

Details of the case revealed that the complainant informed the police that someone had stolen his vehicle in front of his sight and did not bring it back. At first, the complainant thought it was a joke from one of his friends, but after a while, he decided to call the police.

The defendant said that while walking for a long distance, tired of walking, he noticed that the owner of the vehicle stopped in front of a coffee shop in Al Nuaimiyah area and left his engine running. He decided to drive the vehicle to his home in another emirate and admitted to his crime. Due to the circumstances of the incident and the lack of criminal precedents against the accused, the court reduced the penalty to a minimum.
