The Fujairah Court of Appeal has acquitted a GCC woman of using witchcraft for the purpose of harming her husband and taking advantage of him.
The case was filed by her husband’s son, who entered the house to collect official documents in order to complete the procedures of becoming a guardian to the family until his father recovers from a five-month coma, the son noticed papers with weird writing similar to the writing used in witchcraft while taking the papers.
The son accused the wife of using witchcraft on his father to harm him. The court of first instance ordered the father’s wife to pay a fine of 10,000 dirhams, but the court of appeal acquitted her due to insufficient evidence against her.
