Fujairah: Three men fined, jailed for assaulting man at restaurant

Fujairah’s Misdemeanour Court sentenced three men to one month in jail and the payment of a AED 2000 each for assaulting a man in a restaurant.

According to the court, the three men were having lunch in a restaurant in Fujairah. The conflict started when the victim came to the restaurant and the trio assaulted him after having an argument.

The restaurant owner called the police which took all those involved to the police station for interrogation and investigation. The three defendants were referred to the public prosecution which accused them of beating the victim.

The case was taken to the Fujairah Misdemeanour Court where the men denied their crime.  However, the court proved their crime by showing them the video footage recorded by the CCTV at the restaurant that proved the assault.  The eyewitnesses present also affirmed their assault.
