After several people spread a false rumor on several social media outlets of the closure of a school in Dubai following the spread of influenza in the school. The Ministry of Health denied that rumor, and confirmed that the recent closure of a school in Dubai was not due to influenza, but to the spread of the Norovirus.

The Norovirus is known to cause acute intestinal infections and spreads in closed environments. The school was closed for two days for cleaning and sterilization.
