SEDD activates ‘UAE Pass’

The Sharjah Economic Development Department, SEDD, announced its connection and integration with the ‘UAE Pass’ service, a new version of the unified federal ‘Smart Pass’.

SEDD is the first department in the country to implement the use of the UAE Pass. The new pass is the first UAE-wide digital identity for citizens, residents and visitors. It allows users access to federal and local government services, as well as provide easy access to many services via smartphones without requiring additional user data such as username and password details.

Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, said that the Smart Pass project is one of the important initiatives adopted by the Department to establish a competitive business environment that is competitive according to international standards. “Such a thing falls within SEDD’s concerns to achieve one of the most important objectives of its strategic plan in the economic development sector that is to develop the services provided to clients and strategic partners, and improve the efficiency of human, financial and technical resources,” he added.
