AED 800 fine when using a mobile phone while driving

Abu Dhabi Police warns of using a mobile phone by answering Eid greeting messages and phone calls while driving, as a legal violation. Article 32 of the Traffic Rules and Regulations law states that driving and using your mobile phone can result in AED 800 fine and 4 traffic points.

Brigadier Mohammad Dahi Al Humairi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department, called on motorists to abide by traffic laws and regulations. ” Do not exceed the speed limit and do not override the red light, and not be busy other than the road”, especially we are at Eid time, some motorists may answer Eid greeting messages and phone calls while driving that leads to distracting the mind, and the occurrence of unfortunate incidents”, he said.

He urged parents not to allow teenagers without a license, to drive vehicles or allow them to carry out dangerous stunts on the road.
