Fog and mist covered some parts of the country in the early hours of Thursday, causing low visibility on the roads.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the weather forecast for today is fair to partly cloudy over some eastern areas with light to moderate winds in general.
The highest temperature today will hover between 40 to 45°C over the coastal areas and 43 to 48°C over the internal areas. The relative humidity will increase by night and during the early morning hours.
Winds will be southeasterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, with speeds of 16 – 30kmph, reaching 38kmph in the coastal areas. The sea will be slight to rough in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to rough in the Gulf of Oman.
Temperatures to dip gradually
Sharing a weather forecast for the next five days, the NCM said temperatures are likely to dip in some areas, but humidity remains high with a probability of mist formation especially northward.
Light to moderate winds, freshening at times will be causing the blowing of dust during daytime over some exposed areas. The sea will be moderate, becoming rough gradually, especially westward in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in Oman Sea.
