Today, Dubai Court of Appeal look into the case of the Omani bus crash in Dubai in which the driver charged with causing the wrongful death of 17 passengers and injuring 13 others, to submit the memorandum of defense to the court.
The Court of First Instance sentenced a driver to seven years in jail plus ordered to pay Dh3.4 million in blood money to the victim’s families, after being charged with causing the wrongful death and injuries and property damage.The court also ordered in its ruling that the defendant’s driving licence be suspended and that he be deported after serving his prison time and paying, in addition to the blood money, a Dh50,000 fine. The Court of Appeal in Dubai approved the request for bail for the accused Omani driver in early August.
