UAE leaders react to first UAE astronaut’s entry to space

UAE leaders His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, took to Twitter to congratulate UAE astronaut Hazzaa AlMansoori for becoming the first Emirati in space.

“More than two years ago, my brother Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, and I launched the UAE Astronauts Programme. Now we celebrate the launch of the first Emirati Astronaut to the International Space Station. It is a great accomplishment that we share with the Arab and Muslim nations,” the Dubai Ruler said on Twitter.

“Hazzaa AlMansoori reaching space is a message to all Arab youth that we can move forward and follow others. Our next destination is Mars, through the Hope probe that was professionally designed by our youth,” Sheikh Mohammed added.

Sheikh Mohamed, also reacted to AlMansoori’s entry to space.

“I proudly watched as Hazza Al Mansouri lifted off into space. This event strengthens our confidence in our youth who will take our nation to new heights and reinforces our ambitions for the future. We pray for Hazza’s success and his safe return home,” Sheikh Mohamed wrote.

Hazzaa lifted off aboard the Soyuz MS-15 spacecraft at 5:57pm in Baikonur, Kazakhstan on September 25, Wednesday. AlMansoori headed to space with Russian commander Oleg Skripochka and Nasa astronaut Jessica Meir.
