Saudi King Salman’s personal bodyguard shot dead by friend

The personal bodyguard of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia; was shot dead during a personal dispute. The media spokesman of the Makkah Province Police confirmed the news on Saturday evening. 

The spokesman said that Maj. Gen Abdul Aziz bin Badah Al Fagham was visiting a friend’s house when he was shot. A verbal argument ensued between Maj. Gen. Al Fagham and one Mamdouh Al Ali. Al Ali went out of the house and returned with a firearm. He then shot at Maj. Gen Al Fagham and wounded two others who were in the house at the time.

Al Ali also refused to surrender to the responding security forces and shot at them. The gunman was killed in a firefight against authorities.

Authorities have launched a probe into the case.
