The Fujairah misdemeanor court has sentenced a Gulf man to a one-year suspended prison for physically assaulting a “National Ambulance” paramedic while performing his duties.
The defendant’s wife was feeling ill and called the national ambulance where the assigned team had rushed immediately to the house and performed the necessary assessments to take her to the hospital. The defendant arrived before the ambulance move to the hospital and requested the driver to take her down but the driver refused and requested to take her to the hospital for necessary measures.
The defendant forcibly took his wife to the home and physically assaulted the driver who immediately called the police to report the incident and arrest him.
