Two Asian men never imagined that forging stickers of a gas company and fixing them on the cylinders’ valves would cause an explosion when they were illegally filling the cylinders with liquid gas in a farm in Dubai.
Dubai Public Prosecution refered two Asian defendants to the criminal court for selling unlicensed gas cylinders by filling them in a substandard way exposing people’s lives to risk, they loaded the gas cylinders in a minibusand and hazardously transported them.
Both defendants had confessed of possessing unlicensed gas cylinders.
A witness stated that in the month of June police was alerted about multiple explosions of gas cylinders inside a farm at Al Aweer area. The complainant said she had leased a room in the farm to the laborer where Investigations revealed that he was staying there with his partner and he had injuries and burns all over his arms and legs.
The defendants confessed that they purchased the cylinders from a company in a neighboring emirate and took them to the farm and refilled gas in different cylinders during which all cylinders exploded resulting in major fire in the farm, but they managed to escape before they were arrested.
