Couple sentenced to 10 years in prison for torturing mother to death

Dubai Criminal Court yesterday sentenced an Asian employee (29 years) and his wife (28 years) to 10 years in prison after being charged of causing his mother’s death by beating, burning and leaving her with multiple fractures, damaged muscles, edema on the uterus first-degree burns and complete dislocation of the optic lens of the right eye, and part of the left eye.

A witness stated that the son’s wife (the second defendant) came to her apartment and told her that she is her neighbor and wants her to take care of her young child. Two days later she went to the laundry room and was shocked by an elderly woman in a deplorable condition.
