Abu Dhabi Misdemeanor Court acquitted an Arab young man of physically assaulting a 14-years-old Arab child for not having any legal evidence.
The Public Prosecution had referred the defendant to the Misdemeanor Court for assaulting the victim and causing injuries as per the medical report which led to his disability for more than 20 days, and demanded to be sanctioned by the Federal Penal code and the Child Rights Law.
The victim stated that he came across three youths he did not know while walking with his friend at Abu Dhabi Corniche, and they asked him to move down from the sidewalk to give them passage while he was returning to the sidewalk again his shoulder touched with the shoulder of one of the three youths, then one of them came and punched him on his right eye and everyone fled.
The court held that the lawsuit was devoid of any legal evidence, which led to the acquittal of the defendant.
