Abu Dhabi police foiled distribution of 450 kg of drugs

Abu Dhabi Police foiled the distribution of 450 kg of crystal meth and heroin drugs which were in the possession of a gang of 14 people from different Asian nationalities in an operation called the “Death Network”

Police teams monitored a drug promoter in light of a well-thought-out plan drawn to bust the network of criminals by monitoring and tracing the suspect and identify the source of drugs. It was found that the latter does not reside in Abu Dhabi Emirate and only comes at the weekend to supply the promoter with drugs who were arrested with about 5 kg of heroin and crystal meth drugs.

Colonel Taher Ghareeb Al Dhaheri, Director of Drug Control Department at the Abu Dhabi Police said that these people work for an organized gang who were operating from outside the UAE and based in several emirates in the form of teams and each team specializes in a specific role for smuggling and distributing drugs.

He added, the police managed to arrest 11 people with 189 kilograms of drugs before the main dealer delivered the gang about 261 kilograms of drugs for promotion, but after the arrest, the dealer tried to change his criminal plan and hide this amount of drugs to deliver to a new gang.

He added that the police teams with their expertise were able to locate and identify drug dealers and their new plans. They have been able to seize a large amount of drugs hidden in a warehouse in one of the Emirates in the possession of the rest of the gang members.
