Block on ” Instagram” leads a gulf young man to court

Dubai Public Prosecution referred a 19-year-old young man to the Criminal Court after being charged with threatening and insulting a 20-year-old Gulf girl through internet for blocking him on “Instagram”. He verbally insulted her via audio recordings and threatened to disclose their relation to her brothers and burn her house and run over her face if she would not unblock him and return her relationship with him, stressing that he has an indecent video for her.

In detail, the victim stated in the investigations that she was at her home when she received voice messages through “Snapchat” and “Instagram”, and the game “PUBG”, from the defendant, insulting her and threatening to tell her brothers about their relationship if she did not unblock him on “Instagram”. She stated that he had acted with her in this way after she refused to have a relation with him.

While the victim`s mother stated that she listened to the voice messages that were received by her daughter, pointing out that he insulted her and threatened her because she refused to marry him.

The investigations revealed that the recordings included a dialogue between the defendant and the mother, in which he told her that he was in an illegal affair with her daughter, and he has a video to prove it. The mother replied to him that she is in the police station and the call will be presented to the officer.
