An Asian man imprisoned and penalized for disrespecting the Islamic religion

Abu Dhabi Court of Cassation overturned an appeal verdict against an Asian man who publishing an offensive image of the Islamic religion on his Facebook page, and reduced the imprisonment verdict from 3 years to a year and a penalty of AED 500,000 and obliged him to pay the judicial fees.

Abu Dhabi Court of First Instance had sentenced the defendant for seven years, and a penalty of AED 500,000 followed by deportation and confiscated his phone and obligated him to pay the judicial fees. But he appealed the verdict and the Abu Dhabi Court of Appeal accepted and amended the sentence to three years imprisonment and obliged him to pay the judicial fees and a penalty of AED 500,000.
