Ras al-Khaimah criminal court sentenced a defendant who stabbed his friend with a bottle of wine to death to 15 years in prison followed by deportation and obliged him to pay the legal blood money to the heirs of the victim.
In detail, the defendant admitted during the investigations that he was drinking alcohol with his friend at the desert but the victim repeatedly insulted the murderer`s mother. So the defendant broke the bottle of wine to stab his friend in his neck and let him bleed to death, stressing that he was intoxicated.
On the early morning, a sheepherd in the area found the victim’s body dumped in the sand and inform the police authorities who had in turn arrested the accused who tried to deny the incident and related him to the crime at the beginning of the investigations before he was faced with evidence of conviction.
The forensic report during the investigations revealed that the defendant was intoxicated when he committed the crime.
Ras Al-Khaimah Public Prosecution had convicted the defendant with the charges of murder, drinking alcohol, in addition to concealing the features of the crime revealed by the competent investigation authorities.
