Dr. Farida: Reopening of public places does not mean neglecting the precautionary measures

Dr. Farida Al Hosani, the official spokesperson for the health sector in the country:

  • We stress on the importance of continuing to implement the preventive measures on the remaining days of the month of Ramadan, especially that it has been observed that there are some customs among families, such as sharing food with neighbors, as well as distributing iftar to fasting people, which may also constitute a risk in transmitting the disease.
  • Under the current circumstances, it is necessary to focus on certain groups in society, those who suffer from chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, the elderly and those who need medical care, as they are more prone to the complications of the disease.
  • In light of the return of economic activities and the reopening of public places, we emphasize that this step does not mean neglecting the precautionary measures. All establishments are keen to implement safety measures to reduce the possibility of the virus transmission in public places.
