Dubai “SOS” message rescue people stranded in the sea

Dubai Police have rescued 7 people stranded on board a tourist boat in the sea after a sudden malfunction in the engine battery. The marine rescue teams have managed to reach the boat after the Command and Control Center had received a message with their marine location via the “SOS” service in the Dubai police smart application.

Brigadier General Nabil Abdullah confirmed that the maritime security and rescue patrols had rushed to the location of the boat and provided the necessary treatment to two people who suffered seasickness. All were transported by police boats to Dubai and contacted the tourism company to resolve the broken engine.

He affirmed that the SOS service is available on the Dubai Police smart application and stressed its importance to provide quick rescue operations to the public. Pointing out that the SOS service facilitates the process of reaching those in need very accurately and quickly, hence it is important to make the community members aware of it to be used in case of emergencies.

Brigadier Nabil calls on the cruise ship owners to activate the “sail safely service” that is available in the Dubai Police smart application during their trips to ensure a speedy response to emergency cases.
