Counselor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, the State Attorney general, stated that he had immediately ordered yesterday evening “Wednesday” to initiate an urgent investigation into the rape incident circulated on social media platforms, where a group of young men appear raping a girl.
The State attorney said – in a statement that the members of the investigation bureau have identified very quickly the perpetrators and ordered their arrest.
Abu Dhabi Police were able on the same date to arrest the gang and they are currently undergoing extensive investigations under the direct supervision of the attorney general.
The attorney general assured that this incident is a rare anomaly in the behavior of some youngsters and does not represent a phenomenon to be feared. The state authorities concerned with law enforcement and justice do not tolerate such incidents that harm society.
He called upon all families to monitor their children’s interests and behaviors and raise them in a way that preserves the UAE society its culture and morals.
