A mini-ministerial reshuffle at the UAE Foreign Ministry

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai, announced on Wednesday a cabinet reshuffle at the United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs with two new ministers joining and two previous ministers appointed as diplomatic advisors.

“We made a mini-ministerial reshuffle at the UAE Foreign Ministry in the presence of my brother Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed … where Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar are appointed as state ministers, while Dr. Anwar Gargash leaves to serve as a diplomatic advisor to the President and Zaki Nusseibeh to serve as a cultural advisor to the President”, His Highness said in a tweet.

The UAE President has also awarded the Union Medal to Dr. Anwar bin Muhammad Gargash, one of the most important pioneers of the Emirati political work, who was able to bring about significant transformations in our foreign political affairs and our international and regional relations. Dr. Anwar will remain in the UAE’s service through new portfolios, and his efforts are much appreciates.

“Dr. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh was also honored with the Union Medal for his long cultural and diplomatic efforts in the UAE’s service. The journey continues, as the next fifty years need all energies. The best is yet to come at the UAE”, Sheikh Mohammed added.
