His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, has recently honoured two police officers for arresting an attempted murder suspect within an hour.
Lt. Gen. Al Marri praised the swift action and devotion of both Captain Saeed Al Hanawi and Lieutenant Saif Al Khatri of Al Qusais Police Station in handling the report and arresting the suspect after he had fled the crime scene. Lt. Gen. Al Marri reaffirmed Dubai Police’s keenness on responding rapidly to emergencies and criminal reports as well as capturing perpetrators and bringing them to justice.
The honouring ceremony was attended by Brigadier Abdul Halem Muhammad Ahmad Al Hashmi, Director Al Qusais Police Station; and Colonel Saeed Al Madhani, Deputy Director of Al Qusais Police Station, as well as a number of Dubai Police officers.
Attempted Murder
According to Colonel Saeed Al Madhani, the Command and Control Centre at the Dubai Police General Command had received a report about an “attempted murder” incident in a staff residence in Muhaisnah 2 in Dubai.
“The two officers rushed to the scene and gathered intel from residents and other witnesses in the area,” “They came to conclusion that the perpetrator is an Asian national, and that he had held his co-worker in one of the rooms before stabbing him in the neck with a sharp knife,” Col. Al Madhani said.
Col. Al Madhani added that after stabbing his co-worker multiple times over a dispute, the perpetrator left the room carrying the murder weapon. He then threw it on the ground and fled the crime scene. “The dedicated officers immediately swept the surroundings, and apprehended the suspect who was covered in blood,” he said.
The deputy director of Al Qusais Police Station urged members of society to use reason and logic in dealing with disputes and to resort to the police in the event they are exposed to harm or abuse, and to refrain from taking matters into their hands as this leads to dire consequences for all parties.
