During the UAE media briefing.. Dr. Taher Al-Amiri, the spokesman for “NCEMA”:

  • In light of the vision and direction of the UAE’s leadership to achieve a strategic balance between all national sectors, and as part of the efforts to address the COVID-19 pandemic, and due to the full integration and harmony between relevant authorities, we are now witnessing a significant decline in COVID-19 cases and deaths.
  • The UAE’s management of the crisis has been professional, as recognized by global indicators., and the country has been one of the most successful international examples in this area, in addition to its local and international humanitarian initiatives.
  • The UAE is continuing to update its COVID-19 protocols and procedures, to protect the community’s health and safety.
  • We stress the importance of obtaining the required permissions from the Emirates Red Crescent to hold Iftar tents, considering that local emergency, crisis and disaster management teams in every emirate are entitled to approve the establishment, numbers and locations of such tents.
  • We stress the importance of adhering to relevant precautionary measures amidst the gradual return to openness, as the protection of everyone’s safety and health is a top priority of the UAE’s leadership.
