New penalties, fines for non-compliants with Nafis conditions

The UAE Cabinet approves administrative penalties related to “Nafis” initiatives and programs, as follows:

• False Emiratization incurs a fine of not less than AED 20,000 and not more than AED 100,000 on the facility for each citizen employee.

• A fine of not less than AED 20,000 and not more than AED 100,000, stopping the support of the beneficiary and recovering the amounts disbursed to him in the event that the establishment or the beneficiary submits incorrect documents or data to obtain the services or benefits of “NAFES”, or for the purposes of evasion or circumvention of the Emiratization system.

• A fine of AED 20,000 for each citizen employee and the support will be suspended, and the amounts disbursed to the facility shall be recovered in the event that it fails to comply with the labor relations procedures and its amendments.

• Any establishment that does not notify Nafis of any change in terms of benefit without acceptable reason shall be subject to a fine of AED 20,000 for each case.
