UAE athletes shine in Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Intense competitions and outstanding performances by the purple, brown, and black belts in the Professional division made Wednesday yet another thrilling day of action at Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Zayed Sports City. Following the heated matchups in the country qualifying rounds, a number of players from different clubs and academies around the world have booked their spots in tomorrow’s main bracket.

Today’s competitions were attended by Abdul Moniem Al Hashemi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, President of the Asian Ju-Jitsu Union and Senior Vice President of the Jiu-Jitsu International Federation, Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Mohamed Bin Dalmouk Al Dhaheri Board Member of the Federation, Saeed Ali Al Ghafli, Director of the Support Services Department at the Family Development Foundation, Mohammed Haji Al Khouri, Director-General of the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, Dr Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, and Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the UAEJJF.

Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAEJJF, praised the athletes who took out remarkable performances today and said the ADWPJJC is currently entering the most decisive stage.

“The substantial public turnout during the championship demonstrates the rising levels of public awareness of the importance of this sport and its contribution to community growth. Abu Dhabi, as pioneer in the sport, has helped to create a foundation of champions that participate in this major event and other world championships,” he said.
