Japan logged a 2-1 surprise victory against four-time champions Germany in the FIFA World Cup Group E matches on Wednesday.
The credit in claiming Japan’s biggest World Cup win to date goes to Ritsu Doan (who scored in the 75th minute) and Takuma Asano (in the 83rd minute).
Japan currently sits at the top of Group E, which will also see Spain and Costa Rica play later today, followed by a match between Canada and Belgium. Earlier today, Group E saw a tie between the Croatian and Moroccan teams.
