SEC agrees on new health insurance terms

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired, on Tuesday, the meeting of the SEC, in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, held in the Sharjah Ruler’s Office.

The council discussed several topics related to government work, supporting investors in the emirate, and taking decisions to enhance joint work between government bodies.

The council approved renewing the health insurance policy for Sharjah Government employees for 2024, adding new benefits, and raising some previous benefits’ ceiling.

More than 116,000 people benefit from health insurance, representing Sharjah government agency employees and retirees and their families, including the parents of Emirati citizen employees.

Furthermore, the council discussed the draft general budget for Sharjah government departments for 2024, directing the draft budget to be referred to the Sharjah Consultative Council for discussion and the completion of its legislative term.
