SEC reviews progress of development projects in Sharjah

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired the SEC meeting at the Sharjah Ruler’s Office to review the progress of development projects across the Emirate of Sharjah.

During its weekly session, the SEC discussed recent developments in government activities across the Emirate, examined reports from various government departments and entities, and received updates on ongoing development projects in different cities and regions.

In alignment with directives from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to enhance the legislative framework of government systems, departments, and agencies within the Emirate, the SEC reviewed several draft laws. These drafts aim to incorporate legislative, administrative, financial, and social considerations while keeping pace with regulatory updates and the establishment of new oversight bodies. The SEC directed these draft laws to the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) for further deliberation.

The reviewed draft laws included amendments to Law No. (2) of 2021 concerning human resources for military personnel in Sharjah, reorganisation of the police and security forces within the Emirate, and provisions on retirement pensions and end-of-service benefits for military personnel within regulatory bodies in Sharjah.

In addition, the SEC appointed Rashid Ali Ibrahim Mohammed Al Ali as Executive Director of the Sharjah Communication Technologies Authority (SCTA), effective immediately.

Also in attendance was H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the SEC.
