Dubai Police foil two drug smuggling attempts through banknotes and contact lenses

Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, has issued a decision promoting three policemen of Al Qusais police station for foiling two drug smuggling attempts using drugs soaked in Dh100 banknotes and a box of contact lenses.
Al Marri praised the alertness and devotion of Corporal Ahmed Issa, Corporal Saleh Alawi and Marwan Al Maamari, in ensuring Dubai’s security and safety.
Brigadier Yousef Al Adidi, director of Al Qusais police station said that Corporal Ahmed Issa and Corporal Saleh Alawi foiled an attempt to smuggle banknotes of Dh100, impregnated with crystal meth, to a detainee by his fellow suspect who had pretended to visit him and tried to smuggle the drugs through the notes.
“Our cops were alerted by the suspect suspicious behaviour as he had insisted to hand the money to the detainee, so they inspected the money and detected the drugs” Al Adidi added.
Meanwhile, in the second case, Brigadier Al Adidi said that one female detainee tried to smuggle drugs through her contact lenses box.
“The policeman inspected the detainee’s belongings and detected the smuggled drugs in the “unusually heavy” contact lenses box,” he added.
