An employee accepts a bribe for issuing “Injaz” certificate

The Dubai Public Prosecution referred three Arab defendants to the Criminal Court where the first defendant, a Gulf employee who works in buildings inspection and ensuring the efficiency and function of the fire system issued an “Injaz” certificate. He took advantage of the powers granted to him and he demanded a bribe of AED 15,000 through an Arab mediator in order to speed up the building inspection procedures.

The prosecution convicted the first defendant for forging an electronic document and issuing “Injaz” certificate, the second defendant was convicted for facilitating and accepting a bribe of AED 20,000, while the third defendant was convicted for granting AED 35,000 as a bribe in favor of the first and second defendants. The Public Prosecution referred the three defendants to the criminal court after they have been charged for granting and receiving bribe.
