Warning/ Penalty up to AED 2000 for drifting during rainfall

Abu Dhabi Police urges motorists to discipline while driving during rainfall and warns against driving recklessly, drifting, entering the valleys and non-compliance with traffic laws.

The Directorate of Traffic and Patrols of the Central Operations Sector confirmed the civil control patrols will monitor such misconducts and the areas of youth gatherings for “drifting” and limit reckless driving. It also urges the drivers to leave enough safety distance to avoid accidents stressing that the law will be applied on reckless drivers, their vehicles will be impounded, and they will be referred to court.

Also warned young people to abide by the laws to avoid accidents and endagering the lives of others.

Abu Dhabi Police also urges families to monitor the behavior of their children and warn them against drifting and driving recklessly.
 
The penalty of drifting, endangering the lives of others and causing damage to public facilities is AED 2000, 23 black points, and the vehicle impoundment for 60 days.
