Abu Dhabi: Two men sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for accepting a bribe

Abu Dhabi Criminal Court convicted two suspects on Monday, the first being a GCC national and the second a foreign national, on charges of leaking information about tenders organized by a gas company, in addition to requesting and receiving a bribe of 300,000 Dhs for leaking information.

The two men were sentenced to five years’ imprisonment and fined an amount equal to the value of the bribe provided.

The Public Prosecution has referred the accused to the judiciary after receiving information revealing that an administrator in a prestigious position in one of the specialized companies in the field of gas, who receives a monthly salary of 160 thousand dirhams, has leaked information about a tender organized by the company to one of the companies bidding for a bribe of 300 thousand Dhs.
